Danny Cockerill, 57 Chevy, Pro Mod

Complete chassis by ARRC. Body by Tim McAmis with modifications by ARRC.

2005 UK Pro Mod Champion

Driver's-eye view during construction. Mike and Luke wonder if the photographer will ever get out so they can get back to work.
Andy and Pete trial fit the front to check on fuel tank location and mounts.
Rear of chassis with twin battery mounts, body mounts and parachute attachment.
How to attach the front wings without Dzus fasteners along the back edge. Clips on the inside of the wing locate on the tube shaped to match the profile of the wing.
A Pro Mod chassis is pretty complicated providing a Funny car cage to protect the driver and twin rails to carry the shock load of 2500hp from the rear tyres into the structure of the car. Plus lots of cross bracing and triangulation to maintain the integrity of the structure in extreme situations.

And in the back a Mark Williams Modular 9 inch Axle.

Fuel tank and dry sump oil reservoir. Both custom made from sheet metal for this application. The fuel tank, on the left, has a hidden breather, the outlet of which can just be seen in the middle of the front surface.

In the background are the Strange front struts.

Construction shot of oil reservoir shows internal baffling.
Polished pedal assembly (well done Luke) with adjustable stop for clutch and switch mount. Also shows ARRC chassis plate.
Polished throttle to match other pedals and details of blower drive belt safety cover.
ARRC designed and built swing-away steering column, shown in up position, latch mechanism and down position.
First time in the staging lanes at Santa Pod.
